Curriculum Vitae

- As Secretary of the NGO Committee, she introduced effective management and communication strategies to link the work of the Committee with the Secretariat and with NGOs around the world, co-ordinating the action of governments and civil society groups to tackle challenges at the global, regional and national levels. To this end, she continuously promoted partnerships and engaged in strategic planning, proactive advocacy and management of complex and sensitive work programmes involving people of all cultural backgrounds.
- She spearheaded the development of the Informal Regional NGO Network, in which some 3200 civil society groups now participate, as a critical channel for communicating key themes and programmes between the UN and the NGO community.
- She was instrumental in arranging a partnership between the International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions, an intergovernmental association with observer status in ECOSOC, and the Institute of Political Science of the University of Paris, with a view to developing new modalities and practices for the achievement of the MDGs.
- As a member of the Panel of Counsel, she has advised apellants on administrative questions, always opting for conciliation whenever possible.
- She serves as Secretary General of the Association Culturelle Francophone.
- A national of Algeria, she holds MA degrees in Business Administration, Applied Linguistics and Modern Literature and a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Aix-en-Provence, France, and has received awards from intergovernmental organizations and governmental and civil society entities in Italy, India, Russia, Algeria and Tunisia. She is fluent in French, English and Arabic.
