The Buddhist Association of China Convened the Prayer for World Peace in Commemoration of the 77th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War

On the morning of September 3rd, 2022, in response to the initiative of China Committee on Religion and Peace (CCRP), the “Prayer for World Peace in Commemoration of the 77th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War” was held by the Buddhist Association of China at Guangji Temple in Beijing. The prayer was hosted to engrave the history on the mind, pay tribute to those who laid down their lives, pray for world peace, and promote the Buddhist philosophy of compassion and peace. It demonstrated the fine tradition of the fourfold assembly of the Chinese Buddhist community using three major languages in pursuing patriotism, devoting to Buddhism, defending the country and benefiting the people, reflecting their aspirations to achieve national rejuvenation and world peace. Yanjue, Vice President of CCRP and President of the Buddhist Association of China, Hongdu, Deputy Secretary-General of the Buddhist Association of China, and Puzheng, Deputy Secretary-General of CCRP and Deputy Secretary-General of the Buddhist Association of China, presided over the prayer. Lacan, Secretary-General of CCRP, were in attendance.
