Li Guangfu,Vice President of CCRP, Attended Expert Roundtable Hosted by RfP International

On June 30th, 2022, Ven. Li Guangfu, Vice President of CCRP and President of China Taoist Association, participated in an Expert Roundtable co-hosted by RfP International and the UN Secretary-General's High-Level Advisory Board on Effective Multilateralism, with the theme of "Faith, Governance and Multilateralism". Secretary-General Mr. Lacan and Deputy Secretary-General Ms. Yu Shuang of CCRP accompanied the conference.


Ven. Li Guangfu underlined the Global Development Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping at the UN General Assembly 2021, and the Global Security Initiative proposed for the first time at the Bo’ao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2022. He elaborated on the role of CCRP in the international cooperation to respond to climate change, the efforts in promoting world peace and security, and the concept of environmental protection, peace and security in the Chinese religious communities. For improving international governance by effective multilateralism, he called to gather positives, champion and practice true multilateralism, and  follow the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits in global governance, promote humanity’s common values, and encourage exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.

 

Established in March 2022, the UN Secretary-General's High-Level Advisory Board on Effective Multilateralism is committed to responding to the report of Our Common Agenda issued by the UN Secretary-General in September 2021, making concrete recommendations, and offering consultation for stronger governance over key areas of global concern, such as climate, sustainable development, and peace-building.
