Why do we need to build an ecological civilization? What kind of ecological civilization needs to be built? How to build it? Leaders from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment introduced China’s practices and achievements in building ecological civilization from three aspects. Representatives of countries participating in the webinar expounded their understanding of ecological protection from different perspectives. “China’s approach to the ecological environment has provided us with new ideas and made new contributions.” “The judicial power should play a bigger role in the protection of ecological environment, and people should enjoy equal rights to access healthy soil and water sources.” “We should join hands in carrying out ecological environment protection projects, especially related to sustainable development, and share more models and concepts that offer reference.” The participants affirmed China’s remarkable achievements in building ecological civilization, and carried out discussions on issues of conducting inter-religious dialogues and cooperation, advocating green development, strengthening international cooperation to address climate change, and promoting the formation of a new landscape of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
