CCRP Visits BeiDou Navigation Satellite System Achievements July 7th, 2021

On June 25^th, Deng Zongliang, Vice Chairperson of the Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs of the National Committee of the CPPCC, and Executive Vice President of CCRP, headed nearly 30 CCRP members to pay a visit to BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) application and development research institute of China North Industries Group Corporation Limited (NORINCO Group), and China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) Fifth Academy, to check BDS achievements. Yang Changfeng, member of the National Committee of the CPPCC, and chief architect of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, Lv Xin, member of China Satellite Navigation System Committee, Zhou Jian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of NORINCO Group, and Li Jie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of CASC Fifth Academy, attended among other leaders.

The visit was hosted by Mr. Lv Xin. At the beginning, chief engineer Yang Changfeng extended warm welcome to the CCRP delegation on behalf of BDS, and expressed gratitude to CCRP for the great attention and support for BDS. Vice President Deng Zongliang stressed that in the context of the centenary of the founding of the CPC, enhancing the “four consciousnesses” and “four-sphere confidence” and achieving the “two upholds” are the major tasks of CCRP this year. As a pillar of the great power, BDS fully embodies the political strength of China’s socialist system in pooling efforts to accomplish big tasks, and is of great significance to enhancing China’s overall national strength.

CCRP members watched the promo Navigate the World Through BeiDou at the completion and commissioning ceremony of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS-3) in NORINCO Group. They then visited the exhibition of BDS achievements, and listened to the introduction to system engineering, operation services, promotion of applications, international cooperation, and prospects. The exhibition boards and exhibits of the innovations and achievements of BDS, as well as the scale, marketization, and industrial and global application, attracted the attention of CCRP members. They stopped to observe and inquire about more details. After visiting the achievements of the Collaborative Development Platform of BeiDou Industry, the CCRP members came to the exhibition hall of the CASC Fifth Academy, to check space vehicles including BDS and experience the progress of aerospace technology.

This event coincides with the centenary of the founding of the CPC and the first anniversary of the launch of BDS-3. The CCRP delegation spoke highly of the great achievements registered by BDS, and the BDS spirit of the new era of “independent innovation, open integration, unity of all, and pursuit of excellence”.
