CCRP Delegation Attended the 8th General Assembly of ACRP and Master Chuanyin Was Elected Co-President

From August 25 to 29, CCRP delegation composed of representatives from China’s Buddhist, Taoist, Islamic, Catholic and Christian circles, and with Mr.Deng Zongliang as Advisor, Imam Chen Guangyuan as Head, attended the 8th General Assembly of ACRP held in Incheon. Nearly 600 delegates and representatives from more than 30 countries and regions as well as related international organizations and social groups in Asia-Pacific areas took part in this assembly themed  the Unity and Harmony in Asia. 

The Assembly announced Icheon Declaration, elected new leadership of ACRP. Master Chuanyin, member of standing Committee of National Committee of CPPCC and President of China’s Buddhist Association was elected one of Co-Presidents of ACRP,Ven. Ren Farong, Imam Chen Guangyuan, Bishop Ma Yinglin, Elder Fu Xianwei and Mr. Dao Shuren, all members of the standing Committee of the National Committee of the CPPCC and Vice Presidents of CCRP , were elected member of Governing Board of ACRP. 

Imam Chen Guangyuan, member of the standing Committee of the National Committee of the CPPCC, Vice Presidents of CCRP and President of China’s Islamic Association, delivered keynote speech during opening ceremony. He addressed that, Asia has the largest population in the world, and diversified cultures, traditions and religions, its unity and harmony play crucial role of maintaining world peace and stability. All religions have beliefs to advocate peace and promote harmony, therefore, religious exchanges is beneficial to dialogues and exchanges among different peoples in Asian countries. People from China’s religious circles are willing to continue contributing to Asia’s unity and harmony, together with people from world religions.

Also in each commission meetings, delegates from CCRP all expressed their opinions about peace education, reconciliation and security, human rights and wellbeing, development and environmental protection, introduced the positive ideas and useful practices of China’s religious circles on keeping world peace, promoting peace education, advancing social harmonious development and protecting environment.
