CCRP Delegation Attended RfP’s 9th World Assembly, Pagbalha Geleg Namgyai Was Elected Honorary President and Ren Farong Co-President.

During the RfP’s 9th World Assembly held in Vienna from November 18 to 22, 2013, Ven.Pagbalha Geleg Namgyai, Vice President of CPPCC, President of CCRP and Honorary President of China Buddhist Association was elected one of Honorary Presidents of RfP; Ven. Ren Farong, Vice President of CCRP and President of China Taoist Association, was elected one of Co-Presidents of RfP; and Ms.Jin Wei, Member of CCRP and Vice President of China Christian Council, was elected member of Women’s Coordinating Committee.

Ven.Xue Cheng, Secretary-General of CCRP and Vice President of China Buddhist Association, delivered a speech themed Protecting Earth and Safeguarding Our Home at the fourth plenary. He introduced that attaching great importance to ecological civilization, which is related to people’s welfare and future of the whole nation, Chinese people are committed to building Beautiful China, realizing sustainable development and contributing to world ecological civilization as its goal of ecological construction. He also pointed out that China religious circles have lots of positive thoughts and cultural traditions in the aspect of respecting, protecting and complying with the nature. In recent years, China religious circles have been playing active role in publicizing ecological civilization, undertaking public services to protect environment and pushing forward China’s ecological construction. He appealed to all religious leaders and organizations in the world to strengthen cooperation and make joint contributions to protecting earth and safeguarding home for all human beings.

Other members of CCRP delegation also respectively introduced  China religious circles’ propositions and useful practices on maintaining world peace and promoting comprehensive development at the panels around themes of Conflict Prevention and Transformation, Advancing Citizenship, Realizing Just and Harmonious Society, Human Development That Respects Earth and Multi-Religious Education.
