CCRP's Statement on Resolute Support to Anti-Secession Law Adopted by the NPC

The second plenary session of the second committee of CCRP is convened in Beijing on March 13^th 2005. Based on CCRP's missions concerning "maintain China's unification, and promote world peace and common development", to preserve peace and stability across Taiwan strait region, the session hereby makes statement as follows cosponsored by all CCRP members:

CCRP resolutely upholds and supports the four-point proposal for the development of the relationship across Taiwan Strait expressed by Chairman Hu Jintao, that is, "We will never waver in our commitment to the one-China principle, never abandon our efforts to achieve peaceful reunification, never change the policy of placing our hopes on the people in Taiwan and never compromise in our opposition to the secessionist activities aimed at 'Taiwan independence'", and the Anti-Secession Law Adopted by the NPC. Because the Law not only represents all Chinese people's expectation, but also reflects the heartfelt aspiration of our religious believers. Although we have many different faiths, it is our common goal to promote religious harmony, maintain world peace and accomplish the reunification of the motherland. CCRP will make unremitting efforts together with all Chinese people to achieve this goal and extend our unceasing and sincere wishes and prayers to it.
