CCRP Representatives Met with Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church Patriarch Jacob

On December 12, 2024, a CCRP representatives and Ms. Liu Cuimin, Director of the Beijing Committee of the Christian Church, met with Jacob, Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, and his delegation. The CCRP delegation included Ven. Meng Zhiling, CCRP Vice President and Resident Vice President of the China Taoist Association, Ms. Gao Ye, CCRP Secretary-General, Rev. Yang Yongqiang, Deputy Secretary-General and Resident Vice President of the Bishops’ Conference of Catholic Church in China, Ms. Yu Shuang, Deputy Secretary-General, Ven. Zong Xing, Resident Vice President of the China Buddhist Association, and Mr. Yang Huiying, Deputy Director of the Training Section of the China Islamic Institute. The two sides introduced the religious development in each country and expressed the hope to strengthen the friendly interactions between Chinese and Ethiopian religious communities.

CCRP representatives presented to the Ethiopian guests the development of various religions in China, covering their followers, clergies, holy places, and religious academies, as well as their efforts in developing religions in the Chinese context, charity and public welfare activities, community services, and international exchanges. CCRP expressed the willingness to carry out friendly communication with the African religious community, and to actively participate in China-Africa Partnership Action for People-to-People Exchanges, thereby laying a solid public foundation for the friendship and cooperation between the two sides and contributing to forging a high-level, closer China-Africa community with a shared future.
