Zhang Siqing

Zhang Siqing, male, Han nationality, a native of Luoyang, Henan Province, born in August 1932; joined Communist Party of China (CPC) in October 1952; began working in March 1949; received an education equivalent to that of a senior high school graduate.

1949 - 1952  Worked in Xinzheng county of Henan Province and Tongcheng of Hubei Province as a logistics supplier to People's Liberation Army men fighting in the front lines, at Central-South Branch of Supreme People's Procuratorate as a clerk responsible for document receiving and dispatching and in Pingle County of Guangxi Province as deputy leader of a land reform working team

1952 - 1954  Staff member, investigator of Central-South Branch of Supreme People's Procuratorate

1954 - 1955  Deputy team leader and assistant judge of Northeast China Working Corps of Supreme People's Procuratorate

1955 - 1966  Procurator of Yangtze River Water Transport Procuratorate, procurator of Hubei Provincial People's Procuratorate, secretary and chief secretary to its Leading Party Members' Group

1966 - 1969  Subjected to rude treatment during "Cultural Revolution" and sent to do manual labor at a May 7th Cadre School

1969 - 1973  Worked at Examination and Approval Office, Military Control Commission of Hubei provincial public security organ

1973 - 1974  Deputy director of General Office, Higher People's Court of Hubei Province

1974 - 1983  Vice-president of Higher People's Court of Hubei Province and deputy secretary of its Leading Party Members' Group

1983 - 1985  President of Higher People's Court of Hubei Province, secretary of its Leading Party Members' Group, director-general and Party committee secretary of the provincial Department of Public Security and concurrently first political commissar of Hubei Armed Police Corps, Standing Committee member of CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and secretary of its Political and Legislative Affairs Committee

1985 - 1988  Deputy procurator-general of Supreme People's Procuratorate, member of its Leading Party Members' Group and member of Procuratorial Committee

1988 - 1993  Deputy procurator-general of Supreme People's Procuratorate, deputy secretary of its Leading Party Members' Group (with the rank of minister from December 1991) and member of Procuratorial Committee

1993 - 1998  Procurator-general of Supreme People's Procuratorate, secretary of its Leading Party Members' Group and member of Procuratorial Committee

1998 - present  Vice-Chairman of CPPCC National Committee and member of its Leading Party Member' Group

He was an alternate member of 13th CPC Central Committee, member of 14th and 15th CPC Central Committees, vice-chairman of 9th CPPCC National Committee.
